Summary/Abstract: The paper argues that Franz Brentano did not neglect, but, on the contrary, emphasised the role of the categorial relations as truth-makers in his dissertation. It presents two sorts of arguments for this thesis: textual evidences for the importance of truth-makers in Brentano’s first writing and the role of the agreement between cognition and thing for the Brentanian deduction of the Aristotelian categories.
