Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the approach of a negative character by an actor and the benchmarks by which one must understand, in its depth, the evil that it consists of, its origins, circumstances and what I have termed its ethos with its constituent elements. The negative character, beyond its character and its reprehensible facts, can also be defined as a functional element of the drama, tragedy or comedy. The paper deals with both the negative character, in general, under the title of “villain”, as well as the environment and the circumstances in which it is carried out. The analysis briefly reviewed a few characters, iconic for their deeds, and their negative traits or reprehensible deeds were structured as a decalogue. In addition, the paper refers to the current social environment and to the difficulties or facilities offered by the Internet and the new media in the actor's work. A brief presentation of the evil was made by analyzing the circumstances in which it proliferates, namely the crime, the war, the proximity of the death put into the frame of what was called the aesthetics of ugliness. The justifying discourse of the reprehensible facts was analyzed both paradigmatically and from the perspective of the actuality.
