Summary/Abstract: In a context of globalized competition, mergers and acquisitions are presented as effective strategies in front of continues technological changes and rapid growth in global markets, particularly in Eastern European region, which is becoming increasingly important in terms of number and volume of mergers and acquisitions’ operations. Our research work consists in providing descriptive complementary insights to previous research, by analyzing the characteristics of mergers and acquisitions market in this region. Our sample includes all transactions realized between the years 1990 to 2018, collected from the Thomson Reuters Eikon database. The statistics indicate that most transactions are in the financial sector, the country of Turkey is the main target region regarding mergers and acquisitions investments, and approximately all transactions are friendly.
