Summary/Abstract: Since the outbreak of the war against Boko Haram, war strategies have continued to be invented by these local actors in the affected areas. These state subsidiaries who play the role of barrage and scout face several challenges including: the lack of professionalism, adequate resources and the absence of legal texts. Familiarize yourself with the world of insecurities, anticipate their demobilization and reintegration into their respective communities is the question on which we will base our analysis because in the long run they risk turning into a rebellion group. This article aims to study the role of popular defense in the fight against Boko Haram and to show that demobilization and reintegration is a system that can lead to local development. What is relevance of popular defense and in what way can demobilization and reintegration be a factor of development after the Bokoharamist crisis? For this, we used written sources, oral sources and participary observation. The treatment of all these sources made it possible to develop a plan which focuses on three axes. First, on the context of birth and the typology, then the strategies of struggle put in place and finally, the process of demobilization and reintegration as a factor of development.
