Summary/Abstract: This article is dedicated to the characteristics of translating the Romanian gerund in Russian. The authoress examines the richness of the syntactical functions this Romanian verbal tense has and describes certain difficulties a translator may encounter when trying to find the suitable Russian equivalent for the Romanian gerund.
