Summary/Abstract: Vasko Popa enriched the Serbian poetry through his own means of expression, through a brave and efficient synthesis, a modern sensitivity that opens new spaces and new possibilities. As a poet of the essential, of the eternal now, Vasco Popa was, without great effort, always a poet of the present. Talking about nothing, and showing how this “nothing” can be defeated in the name of what is human, Vasco Popa's poetry sings about its own destiny and about the destiny of lyrism in general. This type of poetry reaches the apogee of meaning. The present paper points out the expression of the poetic language in order to reach that purpose.
