Summary/Abstract: Sports tourism today is one of the most dynamically developing sectors in the huge tourism industry. The purpose of the article is to systematize the nature and role of sports tourism and on this basis to present the good practices of the types of sports tourism in Bulgaria. Examples of practicing different types of sport in the destination are considered and recommendations for their improvement are made.
