Summary/Abstract: Central Library of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (CL of BAS) works in the field of digitization of Bulgarian cultural heritage from 2011. Up to the present are processed more than 4000 titles in 330 000 files, organized in 21 collections. These are personal libraries of eminent scientists, books of Bulgarian National Revival, periodicals (newspapers and journals), microfilms of Old Bulgarian manuscripts, photos, etc. These digital collections have been preserved on a platform DSpace. Between 2019–2021 CL of BAS digitized and virtualized Bulgarian cultural heritage in the frame work of the National cultural program Cultural-historical heritage, national memory and social development. The academic book serial Periodicals and Literature (in 6 volumes) of the Institute for literature is an overall scientific study of the literary periodicals from the Liberation 1878 to 1944. Volume 6 encompasses the literary periodicals Поредицата „Периодика и литература“ в дигитална среда 60 in the 1920s. Are digitized more than 50 titles (full files) which in the collections of CL of BAS, Institute for literature library, Bulgarian National Library, Regional Library – Veliko Tarnovo and Ivan Vazov National Library. To the scanned files (more than 40 000) are made the appropriate metadata in DSpace platform. In such a way it was achieved an integration between the library system ALEPH 500 and the digital platform DSpace. The results achieved are an open (free) access to the digital collection with very rare and precious periodicals in it.
