Summary/Abstract: Although many people praise critical thinking as being one of the core values of school in the 21st century and one of the main traits we should encourage in children, there are few (close to none) landmarks to give actual means or directions for teachers concerning this aspect when working with young and very young children. Since teachers are, themselves, a product of the educational system which we blame for not adequately developing critical thinking, we should presume that most of the teachers will require more precise instructions and directions regarding the possibilities and limits of developing critical thinking in their students. This article aims at defining critical thinking from an educational point of view and at offering some concrete advice for teachers working with young and very young students
