Summary/Abstract: The main intention of Steve Pincu's book is to present a new theory about the cause of revolutions and to show that the glorious Revolution of 1688-89, was the first modern revolution and was neither a restoring nor a political statement of an exceptional English character, that distinguishes the English people from all other nations, as the historical myth says. It was an expression of two conflicting ways of bringing about modernization in England and Scotland and also the blueprint for all other modern revolutions, including of French Revolution, too.
