Summary/Abstract: Mythological symbols are depicted on wood-carved royal doors, originating from Revival Christian churches in Southwestern Bulgaria. The emphasis is on the images of dragons. The semantics of the symbols is analyzed. Their connection with the topics of fertility and the protection of the sacred space is studied.
