Summary/Abstract: With the invention of the Camera Obscura, one of the most important inventions of the 19th century, the foundations of photography, which is one of the most used and produced art practices today, were laid. Painters started to benefit from photography technology in order to obtain clearer images that they would transfer to the canvas surface and as a result of this development, the relationship between the art of painting and the art of photography began. This relationship has progressed over time, getting stronger with the benefits of the age and transforming with the opportunities of the digital age. The entry of photography into the art of painting brought with it the physical transformations experienced in the art of painting and opened the doors of new techniques and expression methods to the artists. Photography, which has a place in both social life and art, has become one of the interdisciplinary art genres with which the art of painting interacts the most. Purpose of the study; is to examine the transformation process of photography with its use in painting, the coexistence of photography and painting in an interdisciplinary art environment where the sharp boundaries between art practices have disappeared, and their hybridization through artist examples.
