Summary/Abstract: Many characters in the novels of Gaito Gazdanov (1903-1971), who represent the lost generation of Russian emigre literature, are intertwined with chaos. Different types of death, especially murder which engraves deep traces in the human soul and "suicide", which is considered as an expression of helplessness and getting away from one's own reality as a result of situations that are impossible to get out of, makes chaos. Gazdanov, who joined the ranks of the White Army at the age of seventeen and left Russia never to return, always had to face the reality of death in Istanbul and Paris, conveys his own life experience with the characters in his novels. Reinforcing the power of expression in his works with philosophical and psychological analyzes, the artist stays close to the philosophy of existence with his chaos descriptions. In this current study, murder and suicide cases, which cause chaos in Gazdanov's novel characters and which are the biggest patterns revealed by chaos, will be analysed.
