Summary/Abstract: In the context of international policies for the prevention of domestic violence, states are taking several actions to implement effective mechanisms, aimed at preventing and combating this anti-human phenomenon. Depending on the place and specificity of the incrimination of domestic violence, the laws of the states under study may be classified as follows: - legislation recognizing domestic violence as a criminal offense, establishing legal and criminal regulations on the separate incrimination of domestic violence; - legislation which brought together, in a single chapter of the criminal law, incriminations of various illicit acts, which are included in the general sense of the notion of domestic violence, being called „Offenses of domestic violence”; - legislation that does not provide for legal-criminal regulation dedicated to the distinct incrimination of domestic violence, but qualifying signs have been introduced that aggravate criminal liability for committing acts against victims with family status.
