Summary/Abstract: When analyzing the female / feminine problematic aspects in the Ukrainian literature, one must consider the two interconnected issues. First, that the image of the woman in that literature evolved from the idealization in the classical texts through the modernization in the texts of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and beyond - deidealization, desacralisation and even profane in the contemporary texts. Second, along with the evolution of the image of woman also the discourse of love has changed: from the preference for "the smallest" sublimated libido in the classical Ukrainian literature, through the proclamation of the word "free love" in modernism, to the affectation of sexuality, violence and brutality, to the depreciating of love (phrase "death to the Love") in the recent literature.
