Summary/Abstract: Based on the findings of a recent Eurobarometer survey on Digital Rights and Principles, this study aims to examine the extent to which citizens of the European Union know that their rights (such as freedom of expression, right to privacy or non-discrimination) are protected including in online environment. We will analyze the extent to which aspects such as age, social status, perception of the European Union, the degree of use of the Internet influence the way in which Europeans are aware that they are both protected both in “offline” and “online” environment.
