Summary/Abstract: Daniel Thomas Moran, a former Poet Laureate of Suffolk County, New York, is the author of twelve volumes of poetry. His apparently straightforward style disguises unexpected raids into the depths of the human mind, caught in the mundane scenery. The past-present opposition gives birth to observations about life, which usually go unnoticed in the long hurtle of time. The ever-present nature in Moran’s poetry triggers either memories, which, blending with reality, result in sudden, at times, philosophical insights, or meditations on life. The poems selected for discussion were written between 2003 and 2020; most of them published works.
