Summary/Abstract: Afghanistan, a country that has been experiencing a devastating and never-ending civil war for nearly 50 years. There has been taken some initiatives to end the civil war with various measures, but unfortunately, it has not been successful in stopping the ongoing civil war completely. While thousands of Afghan citizens died as a result of the civil war, hundreds of thousands of them had to immigrate within the country and abroad. Especially due to the civil war that peaked in the 1990s, the country's underground and aboveground resources were destroyed in a way that could not be recovered easily. The civil war, which started under the name of jihad, intensified instead of ending with the departure of the USSR from the country. The civil war, which paused for a while with the 2001 US intervention, started to show itself again after the 2008s. It is thought that the civil war, which accelerated with the withdrawal of NATO in 2014, will peak again with the complete withdrawal of the USA. This article examines the role of Iran and Pakistan in the Afghan civil war.
