NATURAL RESOURCE VALUATION ISSUES

Summary/Abstract: Natural resources are considered as one of the main factors in the economic development of any country. Natural resources also serve as a natural basis for the sustainable development of the country's economy. All these necessitate the identification and correct evaluation of natural resources. The main purpose of the study is to evaluate natural resources and identify problems related to it. The methods proposed by international organizations for the evaluation of natural resources have not been developed and are not based on reliable data. The valuation of natural resources in the Western economy makes their value low and makes it necessary to develop realistic methods for this purpose. The cost method for the economic evaluation of natural resources is also inefficient since it does not cause any change in the use of resources and losses. Despite the diversity, methodological differences and existence in modern times of the problems related to the use and evaluation of natural resources, their general principles can be summarized as follows: The need to consider environmental factors in the valuation of natural resources, the expectation of the principle of rent, the integration of this assessment into the System of National Accounts, the definition of not only the use of resources, but also the usability value in terms of sustainable development.
