Summary/Abstract: The article presents a short survey of Slovak language learning at university St. Cyril and St. Methodius in Veliko Turnovo. The attention is also focused on some difficulties that Bulgarian students have to face while learning Slovak. Some comparisons between Slovak (as West Slavic language) and Bulgarian (as South Slavic language) are made.
