Summary/Abstract: The implementation of energy politicies has shaped by the diversity countries in the position of buying or selling energy. In this context, when the samples of the European Union and Russia have examined, it can be mentioned that there is an union depending on the supply-demand relationship. The aim of the study is to show that Russia has an important role in the issue of energy dependence of European Union and, accordingly, to what extent it affects the shaping of European Union’s energy policies. According to the conclusion reached from the primary and secondary data throughout the research the dependence of the European Union on Russia is too low to be underestimated and it is claimed that the projects designed as a solution are insufficient.
