Major issues addressed in the creation of the poet and the filmmaker Anatol Codru

Summary/Abstract: Through the deeply poetic structures of his lyrical and cinematographic creation, Anatol Codru managed to approach multiple problems, concepts and ideas, related to the existential and spiritual conditions of our people. In some poems and in some films, A. Codru expresses his sorrows related to one of the greatest dramas of our people - the deportations, as well as to another drama - the Second World War. The poet and filmmaker A. Codru is not indifferent to the problems of the present turmoil, such as Transnistrian separatism, the union with the Motherland, etc. A. Codru’s lyrical and cinematic creation also divulges a painful concern for the ecological disaster of nature, but also of our spiritual world: ignoring the history, culture and the contribution of the forerunners of our past, the bitterly biased revision of Eminiscu’s destiny and works, etc. Some poems and films by A. Codru will serve as an argument: Eminescu, Dimitrie Cantemir, Alexandru Plămădeală, Architect Şciusev, I, Nicolai Costenco, Plutonier Vorfolomeev, On the path of talent, The Witnesses are accused etc.
