Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the prevalence of the word “face” in Milan Kundera’s novels while rendering its meanings with reference to Emmanuel Levinas’ ideas expressed in Totality and Infinity. An Essay on Exteriority. Our aim is to reveal the sense Kundera assigns to the word “face” and further elucidate the concept by pointing out its connections with identity.
