Summary/Abstract: The study proposes an interrogative-critical perspective on modernity. Nietzsche's philosophical project, summarized in its moral content, is put face to face with Simmel's philosophical projection. The moralist Nietzsche imagines an anti-morality, with an internal economy specific to pseudo-morality, which, however, will have an overwhelming influence on European and European mentalities in the twentieth century. Nietzsche's anti-morality denies all Christian and Jewish foundations and conveys, as a tireless dynamo, an unexpected legitimation for the destructive ideologies of the twentieth century, generating much energy in the area of communist and fascist fanaticism, but also in the area of post-World War II elitist nihilism, or closer, in the area of the radical neo-Marxism of gender ideology and posthumanists. Georg Simmel's 1900 philosophical hypothesis, also based on a profound sociological analysis, allows us to identify a conceptual framework for the imperialism of objects in twentieth-century culture. Transforming itself into a "boundless space" in which "each creator places his product next to another", the culture of modernity establishes the mass character of specific cultural objects, with non-discriminatory value, thanks only to their simple existence in this territory. The imperialism of cultural objects, exercised also through the redundancy of objects as well as through the manifestation of cultural contents, generates an imperialism of the cultural models promoted by modernity. Modern man is gradually subjected, in his evolution, not to his own will, but to the meaning resulting from the internal laws of the functioning of cultural models.
