Summary/Abstract: The integrity of the civil service and the civil servant in the modern democratic society is a fundamental concept closely linked to the idea of trust in the rulers. The elimination of corruption is not only a desideratum for any public authority, but also involves taking concrete measures and implementing them at all levels of the central and local public administration because corruption is still a cause that limits Romania's development prospects. Improving the performance of the public administration involves defining the ethical standards of the civil service, standards that can inspire and shape the behavior of the civil servant. In this context, this article aims to make a brief analysis of integrity as a fundamental value of the civil service, by analyzing the normative aspects.
