Summary/Abstract: This article examines the criminogenic factors for poaching offenses against game in the Republic of Bulgaria. The classification of the criminogenic factors for poaching has been made, by grouping them into commonones, which have a negative impact on society and private ones relevant to illegal hunting, and which negatively affect the will of some hunters. An approximate estimate of the damage caused by poaching to some game species has been made. A detailed analysis of criminal methods of poaching has been elaborated regarding various categories of game in the country - wild boar, deer, mouflon, goat, as well as small game - rabbit, partridge and hunting of predators with prohibited means of hunting. The conclusion was drawn pointing out the need to include poaching in the Ministry of Interior's priority activities, with a view to reducing-poaching in the medium run, from three up to five years, and to provide conditions for increasing the number of wild game and game diversity in the country. Changes in law have been proposed in order to limit poaching activity and practice in the country.
