Summary/Abstract: In 2019, the research project VEGA 1/0303/17 called „Adult education in Slovakia in the conditions of existence of the Czechoslovak Republic (1918 – 1938)“ was finished at the Department of Andragogy of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Prešov in Prešov. It was symbolic, because in that year we could remember the 100th anniversary of the acceptance of the first edifying legislative precautions concerning the adult education in the interwar Czechoslovak Republic. The individual authors, who were also the solvers of the above mentioned project, concentrated in this paper on the presentation of the chosen results documenting the legislative precautions, institutional, organizational and personal ensurance leading to the creation of the modern form of adult education in Slovakia in the given period.
