Comenius, we would like to point out in the following study the legacy, significance and inspiration of Comenius' humanistic ideas in the preparation of future teachers. Even in the 21st century, his humanistic works arouse great interest. The focus of today's education is on social projects, educational reforms and visions for lifelong learning, which aim is to improve society. Education is an essential means of such a change, so it is necessary to motivate not only students of the study program of teaching and pedagogical sciences to take a deeper interest in his personality, the philosophy of education, the paradigm of education. However, for the beginning teacher is important the requirement of the functionality of the theory in its practical implementation and he does not have time during the study for deeper commeniological analyzes of all Comenius works. The Comenius paradigm of education in today's postmodern times may seem utopian, but the pedagogy of a globalized society may also be inspired by Comenius' pedagogical optimism.
