The Self, from Shadow to Light

Summary/Abstract: In the novel Curtain ! French Chronicle of the 20th century by Paul Vialar, the narrator’s ego is vague and indecisive. It is the theatrical art discovery that saves the narrator until he encounters another form of threat that destabilizes him once again. The double’s appearance puts this character once again face to his failings. However, behind the curtain of experience, a scene takes place behind the scenes of the narrator in order to ensure the construction of the new self.
