Work as a means of rehabilitating people in prison isolation – a review of research

Summary/Abstract: Work is the leading activity in human life. It allows him not only to satisfy his basic existential needs, but also provides space for the development of his passions, interests, and enables him to communicate with other people. The article aims to show the importance of taking up work and its role in the process of shaping correct attitudes in prisoners. It presents analyzes and results of research, both Polish and international, on the importance of performing work by units sentenced to imprisonment. The article presents a report from the research carried out in one of the semi-open prisons in the Opole region.
