Summary/Abstract: The article presents connections of grit and its two factors – perseverance of effort and consistency of interests, with a propensity to follow the rules and recommendations established by the government during the Covid-19 pandemic. The presented results are based on data collected during the study carried out in a group of 275 secondary school students from the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Research tools included an original questionnaire for the functioning of youth during the Covid-19 pandemic and the Short Grit Scale (SGS) by A. Lee Duckworth in the Polish adaptation of P. Wyszyńska (Wyszyńska et al., 2017). The results found on the correlation of grit and in particular perseverance of effort, with following to the epidemic recommendations in the group of studied female. In the group of male respondents, differences were statistically irrelevant. This suggests that the grit factor may be one of the important personal resources supporting the pro-social behavior of female, which should be capitalized in the course of preventive activities and resocialization practice addressed to the group of young women.
