Summary/Abstract: Free movement after 1989 made it possible for a large number of Romanians to emigrate abroad. Moving away from family and the country for extra money and a better life; these people have to make a huge effort to adapt to the countries they end up in. The Romanian Orthodox Church has always been with Romanian migrants; offering them religious assistance and help through the more than 600 clerics sent to organized parishes around the globe. For all of them; the Romanian Orthodox Church (BOR) has found ways to support them; to support them and to offer them religious assistance and help in the very middle of the communities in which they live; organizing parishes and sending missionary priests abroad.
