Summary/Abstract: The article presents a new source found in the National Library of Russia in Saint Petersburg. This is the oldest source for the history of the Polish Dominicans. It was probably produced in the first half of the thirteenth century. It contains some new information, among others it finally puts an end to speculation about the time of St Hyacinth arrival in Cracow, who was undoubtedly sent to Poland in 1222. The found text is most probably a fragment of the so-called ‘lost Dominican chronicle’.
