Summary/Abstract: The five painters originating from Nezera in Achaia, Diamantis, Eustathios, Antonios, Demetrios and Panteleon, worked in the north Peloponnese during the 18th century. They were connected by family ties and master–disciple relationships. The painters from Nezera constitute a dynamic local workshop which is characterized by conservatism and adherence to the Orthodox iconographical tradition, whereas it concurrently exhibits an eclectic reception of new artistic tendencies. They had a deep knowledge of their art and related it to the liturgy of the Orthodox Church. Their work is an interesting part of Post-Byzantine Peloponnesian painting.
