Summary/Abstract: This article of the story of the Valdimiresti Christian Orthodox Monastery from its conception till shutdown, in 1956, as told in the archives of the Securitate, Romanian`s secret police in the Communist Romania. Located in the V village of Vladimirescu, Romania, and led by priest Ioan Iovan, and nuns Veronica and Mihaela, the monastery was accused of heretical tendencies, rebelliousness and social unrest by the Orthodox Church and the communist regime, respectively. The monastery in exchange accused the Church of complicity and collaboration with the regime, respectively, against whom, the monastery` leadership had grievances as well. By weaving together information derived from literature on the subject as well as email communication with Roland Clark and Cristian Vasile on this subject, this article explains how this monastery and its leadership are portrayed in Securitate file dating from 1950s and the 1960s.
