Summary/Abstract: Employee engagement is a crucial factor for survival and success of any organization. Energy, enthusiasm, optimism, hard work, commitment, honesty, openness to cooperation, knowledge sharing and helping colleagues are the key characteristics of engaged employees. The question of employee engagement is at the top of the list of priorities of every leader, but this question is especially pronounced in crisis situations. The crisis, which, without exception, was faced by all organizations, was caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, which at the beginning of 2020 led to numerous changes in the way the organization function and conduct business. Leaders had to find new ways to motivate and engage their employees in new circumstances. To this end, many leaders have turned to different models of engagement that simply point out the key factors that positively affect employee engagement. This paper presents and describes the engagement models of Schmidt, Britt and associates, Zinger, the engagement models of consulting companies Penna, Burke, Boston, ThomasInternational, TalentKeepers and the People-Profit (CARE model). By using some of these models, leaders can more easily identify and then influence the key factors that positively affect employee engagement.
