Summary/Abstract: Interview with Dragoș Buhagiar about set design and Silviu Purcărete’s theatre. The interviewer first asked Dragoș Buhagiar more general questions about what set design is and how he practices this profession. In his answer the renowned set designer emphasized the importance of technical knowledge in this line of work. Equally important is the dramatic text, that the director undertakes to interpret (even Silviu Purcărete follows the suggestions of the text in his performances), and the set designer follows the director in this, like in everything else. Dragoș Buhagiar likes the works in which he can also make suggestions to the director, as is the case in his collaborations with Yuri Kordonsky, too. The interview also touches on Buhagiar’s works done abroad, his experiences with the theatre of the Far East, on human and professional qualities, as well as on the reliability of the artists of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj.
