Summary/Abstract: The First World War, especially between 1916-1918, had disturbed almost the whole Bacau's educational system. Between 1916-191 7, the lessons had been ceasing almost in every school, because the schools were turned into hospitals and military units. In autumn 1917, the schools had been retaking their activities, the boys primary schools were placed at Boys School no. 3 and the girls primary schools were placed at Girls School no. 3. Being in a military area, the two vocational schools from Bacau (The Secondary Craft School and The " Queen Maria " Vocational School for Girls) had been concurring by means of their competences in sustaining the front. The teachers and the scholars from primary schools and "Ferdinand I" High-School performed activities in military hospitals, in local medical services, in "Red Cross" Society and in "Romanian Boy Scouts " Society. During The First World War, had died some of the most important teachers of" The King Ferdinad High-School": Eugen Revent, Constantin Stupcanu and Ioan Manolescu.
