Summary/Abstract: During Petar Lubarda‘s stay in Montenegro, in the first post-war years, thanks to specific cultural and political circumstances, primarily the government‘s attitude towards the cultural elite and the desire to constitute national art enriched with epic tradition, folk culture and „local color” emphasized in organizing many events , conditions were created forthe „deconstruction of socialist realism”. During this „Montenegrin period” of Lubarda, works were created that marked the liberation of art from the constraints of state-party control and the imposed aesthetics of social realism by which Lubarda opened the door to modernist aesthetics.
