Summary/Abstract: This paper does not purport to „lobby for lobby”, but to encourage a series of debates concerning the opportunity to enact a law regulating the lobbying activity. The lobbying activity is presented through the lens of international, regional and European organizations, as well as the legal framework that governs decisional transparency and lobbying in terms of Romania. The „failed” legislative initiatives concerning the lobbying activity are analyzed, and it emphasizes both arguments for and against a law regulating lobby and the representation of interests. It argues that the description of lobbying activity as transpicuous cannot constitute a solution; since different lobbying groups are already active within the public sphere, national regulation would be preferable to self-regulation.
