Summary/Abstract: One of the personalities less known of the Jewish press in the Romanian space during the modernity is Marcu Feldman (Câmpeanu), who activated in Iaşi in the second half of the 19th century. He founded the first Jewish periodical which appeared in Romanian language in Moldavia and was one of the promoters of progress and modernisation within the Jewish community. The periodical „Gazeta română-evreiască” has a particular importance for the history of the Jews in Iaşi and also for the history of the Romanian and Jewish press alike.
