THE DIGITAL AGE AND JUSTICE (II). GENERAL OBSTACLES TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF AI IN JUSTICE. CONDITIONS FOR EFFECTIVE AI TOOLS IN JUSTICE

Summary/Abstract: In order to be an effective aid to justice, AI must be subject to permanent constraints during its creation and implementation process. IT specialists and jurists have identified certain risks and obstacles inherent in the use of AI in justice system, as well as the conditions for a healthy and efficient use of new technologies. The development of these technologies in the judiciary system must not lead to injustice or unfairness. A cross-understanding of data and issues is essential, through a constant dialogue between those who can conceive and those who can use AI in justice. This interaction will be facilitated if professionals in both fields are aware of these issues from the early stages of training and if some of them specialize in them.
