Summary/Abstract: The Christian images depicted on the 19th century icons can be classified both as naive painting and as paintings strictly abiding by church norms. One of the wake icons from the cultural patrimony of Bacau has the characteristics of the old iconographic techniques. But since the aura-bearing saints have draped robes, it is also naive in nature. The second icon presents characteristics that classify it among the cult objects specific for that same half of the 19th century. Both pieces, after delicate restoration and museum preservation processes, still delight the eyes of those coming to admire patrimony pieces.
