Summary/Abstract: The paper presents results from an empirical research, conducted among children in residential care. Aim of the study is to identify the influence of public attitudes on the relationship between children placed at the institution. Societal attitudes towards children at residential care can be considered in terms of two opposing positions. On one hand - compassion and pity, ongoing donations, on the other – non-acceptance, rejection, labeling. In both cases, the attitude towards those children is not adequate and could generates violence.
