Summary/Abstract: Ancient lamps from the collection of Galați History Museum are basically unknown, especially the ones from the „old found”. One of them was brought at the Royal Residence according to professor Constantin C. Giurescu orders, and was mentioned in Mircea Petrescu-Dîmbovița's inventory maded in 1939. It is a variant of Iconomu (1986) XXXVII type or Hayes (1992) two type. The accumulation of an generous volume of knowledge about this type of roman lamps, and of course the intention of introducing into Romanian historiography this new artefact make the reasons for the present attempt. The author presented this new artefact in the present lines, with description, ample analogies, comments and chronological clues.
