Summary/Abstract: The article examines the research activities of Aleksej Kantserovskij, teacher of the Kazan Theological Seminary. In addition to the main teaching job he was engaged in scientific work compiling a Mari-Russian dictionary. Unfortunately, the monument remained in handwritten form. The dictionary presents the vocabulary of Meadow Mari and Hill Mari. In addition, the lexicographic work contains a brief comparative grammar for both varieties.
