Summary/Abstract: The article considers new or revises existing assumptions concerning the origin of the hydronyms M i̇̀ rglonas ‖ Mi̇̀rglius, Mùmelis, Pasõdgiris, Pãtyralis, Pi̇̀ršenas, Rūvelỹs,Skérdynas, Skérdžia, Skerdumà ‖ Skerdùmė, Skerdyksnà ‖ Skerdiksnà ‖ Skirdyksnà, Šẽkštis, Šẽkštė, Šėkštỹs‖ Šė̃kštis, Švė̃lpynė, Uršulis, Žadãlis, Žãdikė ‖ Žadik ‖ Žãdikis ‖ Žadikỹs, Žadupỹs, which have already been analysed in the previous studies of toponymy. Alternative interpretations of their origin are proposed referring to the analysis of the accentuation and motivation of hydronyms, the toponymic context and other linguistic data.
