Summary/Abstract: The article examines the derivation of the territorial system of forms of Christian personal names recorded in the 16th–17th centuryTver business documents. The author focuses on the word-formation mechanisms that contributed to the appearance of numerous everyday forms of names. It is these structural transformations, coupled with phonetic changes, that form a unique anthroponymic “pattern” in any specific territory.
