Summary/Abstract: Reporting on, and reviewing thoroughly Il’ja Lemeškin’s book Lithuanica aliter (Lemeškin 2019), the author explains the programme of encompassing philology as it has been elaborated in the contemporary Prague Linguistic Circle, and outlines how encompassing philology should approach – naturally, within a European cultural-historical framework, even if restricted to the 16th and the first half of the 17th century – the whole material basis of Baltic linguistics, which on its turn should never be restricted to the genetically Baltic languages only.
