Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the emergence and evolution of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, an instrument used by China to revitalize The Silk Road, the world’s oldest commercial artery, namely „the entire ancient network of commercial routes, in its various phases of development or involution, which has linked China’s merchants with those of Central Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe, over the past 4 millennia” (Baltasiu, Bulumac, 2016). The initiative represents the big surprise prepared by China in international foreign policy, which aims to overcome the „made in China” stage and become a proactive force in international geopolitics and geoeconomics , namely a world super power. From this perspective, „we can discuss in terms of resurrection, at the same time as The Silk Road, and a Chinese pan-idea, which has at his philosophical center the economic (at least) unity of the Euro-Asian block, financed and managed by Beijing” (Baltasiu, Bulumac, 2016).
